SolarEdge

SolarEdge is a participant in the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Technologies Validation Center. SolarEdge provides the world’s first end-to-end Distributed Solar Power Harvesting and Monitoring Solution. The innovative system allows production of up to 25% more energy from any PV system installation, eliminates all design constraints, enables maximum roof utilization, solves all safety hazards and provides ant-theft mechanisms, all while reducing the cost of energy. The system is comprised of the following elements:

SolarEdge PowerBox

The SolarEdge PowerBox is a power optimizer integrated into each module. The PowerBox maximizes energy output from each and every module through
constant tracking of Maximum Power Point individually per module. Further, the PowerBox automatically maintains a fixed string voltage, allowing optimal
efficiency of the SolarEdge inverter and communicates module performance to enable module-level monitoring.

SolarEdge PV Inverter

The SolarEdge Inverter is a highly reliable DC-AC multi-string PV inverter. Because MPPT and voltage management are handled separately for each module
by the PowerBoxes, the inverter is responsible for DC- to AC inversion. The fixed string voltage ensures operation at the highest efficiency at all times
(>97%), independent of string length and temperature.

SolarEdge PV Monitoring Portal

A web-based application provides module-level, string level and system0wide monitoring. The solar monitoring software automatically provides alerts for
accurate fault detection, localization and remote trouble shooting at the panel-level. Module performance is communicated across existing power lines, so no
extra wiring is required. SolarEdge monitoring can be deployed in conjunction with the PowerBox, or separately to monitor existing solar installations.
With offices in the US, Japan, Germany and Israel, SolarEdge works with industry-leading partners such as BP Solar, Schott Solar, Isofoton and others, to
embed its technology into photovoltaic panels to increase their power output.
